Trade Week and 2012

Trade week starts today and obviously there is some hot property on the table with their homes to be decided this week.

Brisbane Lions power utility Mitch Clark heads the list of those, as he seeks to jettison home and become a Fremantle Docker should an appropriate deal be struck.

Others looking for a move include the Eagles Brad Ebert, who wants to return to South Australia and Crow Jack Gunston, who has stated that he wants to be traded to Hawthorn.

But the most interesting club involved this week could be Collingwood, who face the prospect of losing All-Australian backman Leon Davis, and finding new homes for Dayne Beams, Brent Macaffer and John McCarthy.

Day 1 Wrap

22 year old Steven Morris, son of former Richmond premiership player Kevin, will join the Tigers in 2012. The West Adelaide defender enters Punt Road via a trade with GWS, who pre-listed him under their establishment benefits, and involves Richmond swapping pick 14 with GWS' pick 15. Keep an eye out for him during the preseason, as mature-aged picks generally come with a cheap price and have notably been solid choices since the emergence of Pods and Barlow in 2010.

Marty Clarke is again a Collingwood player after the club struck a deal with GWS, who had pre-listed him. They give up pick 25 for the Irishman, but also gain 19 year old Murray Bushranger Jamie Elliot and pick 67. Clarke will be looking to add to his tally of 46 games in season 2012 and could be a cheap backline commodity.
